 Are you consulting fortune-tellers, ancestral spirits or horoscopes to foretell your future because you are uncertain of your future? Not sure why you were born and what the purpose of your life is? Not sure what your gifts or talents are or what you should use them for? Perhaps you have even attended a séance in the hope of hearing from those who have passed on?The Bible warns us against consulting spirits: "19 Someone may say to you, 'Let's ask the mediums and those who consult the spirits of the dead. With their whisperings and mutterings, they will tell us what to do.' But shouldn't people ask God for guidance? Should the living seek guidance from the dead? ------------
"10 For example, never sacrifice your son or daughter as a burnt offering. And do not let your people practice fortune-telling, or use sorcery, or interpret omens, or engage in witchcraft, ------------
“1 Beloved, do not believe in every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. ------------
“For we are God’s [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live].” Ephesians 2:10 [Amplified Bible] God created you for a purpose that you must fulfil. Do not waste your time consulting spirits. Go to the source of your life (God) for guidance in life. This guidance you will only find in God's Word (i.e. the Bible) and through being led by the Holy Spirit, who comes to live in you when you accept Christ into your life and you are born again. [Read the Salvation article.] Do you want to live your life in hope and victory? Do you want to live with a sense of purpose? Do you want to experience God’s love for you? Anchor your life in Jesus Christ. Ask in prayer what God’s purpose is for your life. It all starts with accepting the Lord Jesus Christ into your life. |
How Do You Receive Christ into Your Life?If you would like to receive the gift of salvation that God has for you today, make a decision in your own heart that you want to be forgiven of your sins and that you wish to turn your back on a sinful life. Believe in the Kingdom of God and the Gospel of Jesus Christ [Mark 1:15]. The Bible says if you confess with your mouth (i.e. actually say it) that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him (Jesus) from the dead, you will receive salvation [Romans 10:9-10]. Salvation is open to any human being who calls upon the name of the Lord [Romans 10:12-13].
